Today was a day of relaxation and eating! πŸ˜€

The morning kicked off with some Ethan-time looking at his programs created using Scratch – game software. It looked pretty cool.

After relaxing and actually doing some work, we headed out to lunch – ramen!!

Then, J and I ventured into Tokyo for our massage and relaxation. It was a beautiful place that completely put me out! Afterwards, we did some shopping in the Ginza area and then headed back toward ‘home’ for dinner with the gents. I hit a second favorite of my Japanese food list – tonkatsu & kaki-fry (oyster fry)! YUM!

All in all, it was a wonderful day and even the rainy weather couldn’t spoil my mood. Tomorrow, I’m off to Seoul!

Spring break has begun! Without wasting any time, I was on a plane to Japan to catch up with my BFF. πŸ˜‰

P joined me for the flight over as she is on her own tour of Japan and we had the first night to hang out. J had everything prepared for me to relax and settle in before we whirled out to Roppongi for dinner and some night-time cherry blossom viewing.

Yesterday, we had a mini Willamette/TIUA reunion BBQ, which was a lot of fun. We hadn’t seen each other in years!

Although it’s been a busy two days; it has been like being ‘home’ again. My heart is full!

It is pouring down raining and it is March 26! I cannot remember the last time it rained this time of the year.

My first year here, it poured and poured rain for about three days flooding the streets. However, it rained in February.

This is extremely strange weather….It looks like it is going to last all day….

It’s raining, it’s pouring…. πŸ˜›

It’s been an interesting few days, I must say. I have realized how very sensitive I am to others’ and their needs. I have also come to understand just how much I give and need to be given back to for fulfillment.

When I start to care about people, I tend to give too much perhaps in hopes that by giving everything they could want they will never leave me. However, I also feel it is part of my nature to just be giving.

Last night my dear friend said to me that she is often disappointed and sad that I surround myself with people who take and never really give back to me or at least give me credit for what I give. It was a very true statement and one of the reasons perhaps that this is the case is due to my lack of boundaries or at least firm ones in terms of what I need in a friendship.

So, I am working on this….I’ve already started and will see how I go. I definitely want to surround myself with people who bring positive energy to my life and need to be strong about doing so. πŸ˜€

This has to be one of my favorite times of the year even though it coincides with my spring break. The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Festival is always a good time to get a bit of culture in. πŸ˜€

About a month ago, they kicked off with a concert “Gustavo Dudamel & the SimΓ³n BolΓvar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela“, which was quite lovely, though there may have been a few too many instruments. πŸ™‚

Anyway, the kick-off for me was seeing Herbie Hancock. What was quite shocking was that many people I spoke to had never heard of him or were not familiar with his name. WHAT?! I suppose he is 73-years-old and younger folk who probably never listen to jazz would not know him. Still, he’s a music legend…even I know that and I don’t even like to listen to jazz. πŸ˜‰

It was a really nice concert. We weren’t “allowed” to take photos or videos, but in true Tara-fashion, I got a few clips. One highlight was an Emirati singer – Hamdan Al Abri – who shocked the pants off of us with his voice! I’m not sure my video does him justice, but wow!

It was a great show and more to come this week. πŸ˜€

Today has been amazingly quiet and lazy.

Woke up at 5.30 – went back to sleep until 8.30.

Got up around 9ish and had some breakfast.

Went to yoga at 10.

Went to get my nails done around 11.45 and returned by 2.

Was at the pool for two hours soaking up the sun and relaxing.

Came inside – cats and I took a short nap.

Did some blogging and am now going to get ready to go out for a concert.

Life is goooood! πŸ˜€

I think I have recovered from my little slump. Hormones are a killer – but at least they do not make everything drastic nor me overly insane. πŸ˜‰

In fact, I feel pretty good and happy. Yay for me! haha. πŸ˜€
