Summer 2010: Part I
Usually my summer travels take me to some place in the world, but this year I thought it would be the year that I visit/catch up with friends and family State-side.ย With such a long holiday (sorry to brag), it was a cheaper option to stay domestic in the States than to try to traipse around the world. Plus, it’s nice to just take it a bit easier! So, I started my traveling…

_9th Judgement_
_9th Judgement_ James Patterson continues to entertain me with this series. It was a better read than what I remember thinking about the _8th Confession_, which is good. I read the entire book on my flights from AD to JFK and was reminded of how much I enjoy having a real book in hand when I’m reading. The story continues with the four women overlapping in their careers and life to help solve…

Happy Birthdays!
At last my BF is back (thought he was suppose to be back sooner, but I was mistaken…)!! Before we had left on our separate trips, R and I agreed to celebrate our birthdays using a voucher for my subscribing to The National newspaper, but we ended up waiting until he returned to AD. At first, we had agreed to not tell each other when our birthdays were, content to just know that…

“Lord of the Dance”
When I was living in NYC, I went to see “Riverdance” another performance by Michael Flatley. I love to watch any form of dance, but especially like Irish dancing and music. The unfortunate part of seeing the performance in Radio City Music Hall was that I couldn’t see their feet move since the seats were so far away. So, when “Lord of the Dance” was announced to come to Abu Dhabi, I definitely…

I was awaken this morning by my awesome parents who called to wish me a Happy Birthday. THANK YOU! ๐ It’s hard to believe I’m 34 today. It’s hard to believe that I’ve been in my family for 26 years! It’s hard to believe I’ve still got friends for the same amount of time. Truly, truly I’ve been blessed and I have no complaints about my life. Yet, in my joy is a…

Summer days in AD
So, it’s Day 5 (why do I count days…?) of 10 to be spent in AD before I head back to the States for the summer. I feared being a little bit bored since almost all of my friends have fled the country and my BF will be gone until this weekend. Though I had planned to get research work done to “entertain” myself that seems to be delayed. Therefore, I’ve had to…

Sri Lanka: Day 4
Our last day in Sri Lanka was spent trying not to get too car sick as we wound our way down the mountain with a few stops for photo shoots, at record-speeds and trying not to have a heart attack watching as Anton swerved in and out of lanes passing trucks and cars on a barely-callable two-lane road. [simage=2047,200,n,center,] [simage=2054,200,n,center,] [simage=2063,200,n,center,] Still, we had a few highlights, such as the stop at Sifani’s…

Sri Lanka: Day 3/Night 4
Our schedule was a bit lighter for this day, so we started a little later for our trip up the mountains to Nuwara Eliya. We started with finishing our visit in Kandy by heading to the Holy Tooth Temple located near/on the palace grounds of the last Singhalese king. It also happened to be a national holiday, so there were numerous visitors to the temple – lucky us! The temple was interesting though…
