This weekend, I’ve been looking at some more adoption links found on a couple of new sites that I started following. The web presence is growing and growing…. The links are also on the right side under ‘Adoptees/Adoption’. The Declassified Adoptee (http://www.declassifiedadoptee.com) Production not Reproduction – Open Adoption Blogs (http://www.productionnotreproduction.com/p/open-adoption-blogs.html) Article on literature of adoption [I haven’t read it all just yet] (http://sgo.sagepub.com/content/early/2011/11/25/2158244011428160.full)

A week gone by…
I hardly know where the week went and my grand plans to start writing more regularly on my new schedule have been a bit slow to get habitualized. Strange how having so many long vacations actually causes more stress and chaos than just continuing to work all the time. The constant adjustment of sleep and eating schedules, organizing time to get this or that done while other activities and matters encroach on the…

Catching up …
Been going around like a crazy person meeting up with friends and taking care of errands before heading back to work on Sunday. Sadly, I am not at all ready to return to the craze of work since I hardly feel rested. But, it’s been worth it to do a Ladies’ Night out, have tea, lunch and dinner with different friends this week. Guess I’ll just have to wait until March to rest…

Goals for 2012
So, I’ve been taking some time to mull over my life now that I have time to think. As always, I’m not a resolution kind of person, but I do like goals. Maybe it’s the same thing with a different name – not sure, but it makes me feel better. Here we go: 1. Finances – Continue to pay off my debts and maintain my budgets so that I am saving, paying and…

Pinterest
So, a while back I read a post on a blog that I follow about the blogger’s new obsession with this site – Pinterest. It seemed like something I should avoid as yet another way to spend my time unproductively. However, last week I kept getting emails from the site saying a friend here and a friend there had started using the site. Thus…I caved. Although I’m not obsessing yet over it, I…

Gardening – Part 4
It’s been a rather long while since I’ve updated on my balcony garden. Things are coming right along, I think. The tomato plants are starting to flower. My beans are producing baby beans and also flowering. The herbs are growing like crazy and all the other plants are going strong. My only disappointment are the carrots…I think I shall have to start over with them, but all in all, my little garden grows!…

Happy New Year!
We had a laid back New Year’s Eve. In the afternoon, MJ and I went for massages. Then, we headed to Cooper’s nearby for dinner. It was a more relaxed atmosphere and cheaper than paying about $100 per person for a course-meal that may or may not be that great. Good thing, too, because although my food sounded delish, it wasn’t that great in flavor…. [shashin type=”photo” id=”4618,4619″ size=”small” columns=”max” order=”user” position=”center”] Afterwards,…

On Being Asian
Just because I am Asian On the outside doesn’t mean I am on the inside. Just because I am Asian On the outside doesn’t mean I want you to be my sugar daddy. Just because I am Asian On the outside doesn’t mean I understand when you practice Ni hao, Konnichiwa or Annyeong haseyo. Just because I am Asian On the outside doesn’t mean I am an excellent student or play classical music.…

Kayaking in the mangroves
Kayaking in the mangroves has been an activity that seemed fun to try and with the cooler weather, it’s a good time of year to do it. Before MJ arrived, Groupons had a deal for a kayaking tour and so R got us coupons for it. The location is not far from our apartment, which is a bonus and the mangroves are nice. However, it’s a workout! By the time we reached the…

Christmas post a few days late…
Well, we had a nice Christmas. It was the first time in 20 years or something like that R and his mom were together during the holidays, so I think it was nice for them to be together. Plus, it was the first Christmas for R and I to celebrate in the same house, which was also very nice. Of course, it’s not the same without family and my dearest friends nearby, but…
