Okay, so I’ve been pretty good lately working on my dissertation. I was making some pretty good progress, but now I’m back to having to find articles, read and write, which bores me to tears. I am starting to feel like maybe I can just make do without the whole PhD thing. I mean, loads of people have and they seem just fine. Would it really be so bad if I just give…

Luxurious Lounging – Monte Carlo Beach Club Abu Dhabi
For some time I have been wanting to spend a day at this beautiful looking beach club. However, it’s a bit on the expensive side to get a sun lounger or a cabana for the day. Since I decided not to go anywhere during this holiday and had set aside just a bit of money to spend and enjoy the ‘staycation’, P and I decided to spend a day. Here’re some of the…

Blank…
Something that I have been pondering lately is my lack of ability to respond quickly to the questions – “What do you think?” or “How do you feel about x?” When I respond with “I don’t know”, it honestly means I do not know; not “I just don’t want to say what I know”, which is probably whatย most people mean. I have noticed that this phenomenon is clearer to me since being on…

Fascinating Inspiration
I have liked Malcolm Gladwell since his early books, but not when he was writing columns. He’s a fascinating writer and in this Ted talk, he’s a fascinating speaker. In fact, he may have become one of my heroes. ๐ He’s left-handed. He’s super smart. He’s a bit weird. He’s a writer. What’s not to like???!! ๐ This is the title of his new book and I’m looking forward to reading it –…

Paleo Cooking
So far the Paleo diet has not been too difficult for me. I have generally gotten over my craving for coffee, which is amazing considering that I basically went cold turkey. ๐ Although I love to eat out, it is quite difficult to stick to the diet so I have been cooking and cutting a lot of vegetables lately. ๐ Here’s some pics of my latest meals: [shashin type=”photo” id=”7854,7859,7856,7857″ size=”medium” columns=”2″ order=”user”…

Coaching: Session 1
Last night I had my first session with the life coach – Karen. We started with my first memory, which I have always described as: ย I am in a crib and looking up trying to say something, but am not understood. Through the session, I came to realize that this seemingly simple way of describing the memory has been creating a negative neural pathway in my brain that has been telling me:ย I am…

_World Without End_ by Ken Follett
_World Without End_ by Ken Follett This is the second novel following _Pillars of the Earth_, which I read earlier in the summer. The story continues a few generations later in the same area of England where life has not necessarily changed much in terms of people’s struggles to survive and overcome the power struggle of the rich or higher statused. Even though I was reading this after work had started, I…

zzz…Sleep…zzz
Three hours of quality sleep is definitely not enough for me. It has thrown my whole day off and now it’s time for bed again! ๐

Another Hairstyle
I know…it’s like a monthly thing for me lately to change my hairstyle…. So I get bored easily, what can I say? ๐ Although I enjoyed having the perm, I basically got tired of doing it every day and putting in mousse then walking around hair that looked crunchy – or at least to me. It was probably just fine and nice, but somehow I was not content. Of course, it was definitely…

Life Coaching vs Therapy
Ooops meant to write this last night…oh well, better late than never, right? ๐ As I wrote over a week ago, I have been thinking about therapy again. For some reason, I couldn’t quite decide what was best of my options and so I kind of mulled longer than I had planned. However, I decided to go ahead and contact the woman, Karen, in LA to see what her schtick was all about.…
