It’s been a period of busyness with visitors and activities. It’s all a good kind of busyness, but still tiring, nonetheless.
When I was sharing with someone about my sense of tiredness, I also felt like a bit of a wimp since I do not actually do a lot of socializing with most of our guests during the day. My energy is spent in logistics or background activities. Still, this is less than M who does the cooking, interacting throughout the day, plus work, etc. So, it seems a tad pathetic to complain about being tired or drained. Yet, that is exactly what happens–I get drained.
The person’s feedback was supportive and affirming that indeed just the presence of other people affects the energy vibrations and can alter my own. If you don’t really buy into this kind of thing, then it might seem strange, and I get it.
Other terms people use are ‘empathic’ or ‘compassionate’, yet they all basically refer to the same reaction–being affected by the energies of others.
Now, I don’t really go around calling myself any of the above, but I fully embrace my awareness of energies, which sometimes reveal themselves as shades of light or dark or even colors depending on the person or situation. For example, while some might call me “judgy”, I know within a few minutes, if not seconds, of meeting someone whether or not we will get along. More often than not–or always–my initial reaction is correct. I can count on one hand when my assessment of someone has been off, and even then, only slightly. Life and experience has taught me to never second guess what my “gut” tells me.
So, while I tend to only accept people with good energies and vibrations into our home, it doesn’t mean that the combination of many doesn’t still have a somewhat negative effect.
Fortunately, I tend to maintain a constant balance of my energy level, so that when there is a dip it doesn’t necessarily affect me dramatically. However, for M, he tends to live on the edge of extremes so when he gets drained it is as if the world is ending and when he is full it is as if the world is full of excitement.
There is no sense of right or wrong way to be (despite what M might think), but it is mostly key to be aware of these moments to store away into my knowledge bank to explain why I might feel unusually tired or more irritable, or even, on occasion, filled with a ton of energy.
That all being said, we are still entertaining for a few more days. Then, it will be rest, routine, and resetting before we find ourselves with plans for visitors in October. By then, I’m sure we will be more than ready!
