Health: Hysterectomy Post-Op Week 1

This picture pretty much expresses how I have been moving the past week. Tomorrow will be one week post-hysterectomy-operation. Today, at Day 7 (surgery day = Day 1), I feel pretty good, all things considered. It’s the first day that I have taken a mere 5 pellets of 30c arnica montana and nothing else. So, that’s my highlight.

Over the weekend, I made sure that I stood up and walked around regularly. The mornings are the best for getting things done as the night’s rest gives me energy. However, I still am reminding myself not to overdo it.

What isn’t talked about ever is the digestive systems process to return to regularly scheduled programming. While I thought I was doing OK getting to the toilet in time, the need to release the gas as a fart really is a risk! Thus, I found myself needing the adult diapers, after all. I know, this is probably TMI. However, if I don’t share about it, then I’d be doing the same disservice done by NOT talking about it. I mean, women need to know this to be prepared!! Yesterday, food processed in two hours and if my insides were not ready to digest it, then it hurt coming out. Luckily, I’m not eating that much nor am I going too heavy on what I eat. So, it has probably been better than one might expect, but I have had no expectations; thus, I find it excruciating!

I had a bit of a downer day on Sunday with everything hurting, even to cry it freaking hurt! But, I allowed myself a 12-hr wallow and promised that I would be back on the positive side on Monday. With a bit of meditation and focus on messaging to my body that all is well and it is good to go to return to normal, the last couple of days have definitely been on the upside.

Still, things like coughing, sneezing, or laughing are painful. There’s a lot to be said for stoicism right now.

Anyway, I’ve got lots of thoughts brewing in my head, but it’s nearing the end of my cognizant brain power for the day, so will save up for another post. Just know, all is well!
