For the past couple of weeks I have been tired and unmotivated. At first, I thought it was due to Aunt Flo or stress. Then, I thought perhaps it was because I wasn’t eating enough during the day, which still may be the case. Then, I thought perhaps it was due to an increase in my caffeine intake since work started, which may also be the case. However, two days ago, I realized that really I think it is one of my downs coming on….

Once I sort of focused on that and admitted that I may be getting a little depressed, I have been able to focus on how to keep myself from letting the down go full blown. So far, I seem to be doing okay. I have stopped the caffeine and plan to keep at it for the next couple of weeks to cleanse my system from needing it. Then, I think I can go back to one cup a day… (maybe!). 😛

Some ways that I battle the downs is by focusing on myself. This means getting some pampering done, scheduling my life very carefully and ensuring that I am surrounded by positive energies rather than those that drain me. It’s much harder to do than we think, but once done, life is definitely better. So, I’m starting to breathe a bit more and refocusing myself on what needs to be done. Phew! 😀

I think being tired is perhaps one of the worst things in life. Yes, that may sound extreme, but tiredness affects so much of our bodies and mental health.

This weekend was meant to be somewhat relaxing, but somehow it wasn’t quite. It was actually a really nice weekend with my friend’s babies’ shower (she’s having twins!) and some relaxing. However, one night of not enough sleep makes it feel like the world is doomed! 😛

Anyway, I am sure that everything will be better with a good night’s sleep! 😀

Until then,

I’m tired. My nose is plugged. My throat is sore. My chest is congested.

Yet, somehow I’m awake and smiling. 😀

Hopefully, this will pass soon – it’s already been nearly a week! 🙁

More to come,

I am not sure where the time has gone, but the past two weeks have whizzed by. So, what’s been going on?

First of all, work started up and there have been daily changes to my schedule. Originally, I was scheduled to co-coordinate a new semester course that I spent a lot of time working on with my colleagues at the end of last academic year. The plan was to work about half time in that role with teaching and half time in the CEI. Then, some space opened up allowing me to work 3/4 time in the CEI and only teach five hours. However, this meant that I had to give up the coordinating and let go of all the work that had been done up until then. It was a bit difficult to make that decision, but I felt it was for the best. I thought all was good, but then today the schedule was threatened to be changed again…. I did my best to try to keep things are they are and I think that it is finally settled. So it seems that I will be able to do 3/4 time in the CEI, which is where I have been wanting to make a move. Initially, I was planned to do some content development for training purposes and design along with some research support. However, as of today I will be like a research assistant on a large-scale research project through the CEI and also (hopefully) doing research support. So…that’s a sigh of relief!

I have started doing some private tutoring in order to bump up my income a bit as I need to make the bills go away faster. So far, I’ve got two students that seem like they’ll be long-term and promising. 😀

This weekend I finished my last co-active coaching course and am not a qualified coach! I got sick with a cold as well, so am still recovering from that.

So, that’s my life the past two weeks in brief! Hopefully, I will be back to a more normal life again soon.

More to come,
